About Me

Dr. Oishimaya Sen Nag is a passionate writer who loves to travel across the Indian subcontinent to understand and explore the relationship between humans and wildlife throughout the region. She has written for many Indian and international publications and uses this blog to publish her opinions on various topics associated with wildlife conservation.

After completing her Ph.D. in Biochemistry, working on the molecular neuroscience of Parkinson's Disease, she decided that she wanted to use her research skills in writing about what she is most passionate about - wildlife. She has interviewed renowned conservationists, wildlife biologists, and other experts associated with wildlife conservation for many of her published stories. She also regularly visits field sites, interacting with local communities, forest department staff, and field biologists to learn about what is really happening on the ground. She brings stories back with her to tell to the world and create awareness among the masses.

She feels environmental degradation and species loss are the biggest threats to the health and well-being of humans today. Thus, she wishes to contribute to this cause to the best of her abilities through her writing. Do share the stories published here to help her spread the message
